When our client approach us with an issue, we look at
the problem with a different pair of glasses on - we take off our IT
glasses and wear our business glasses. Sometimes the solution is not IT
related at all, and can be better dealt with by a business process
change. Other times, we analyse the situation and develop and suitable
solution incorporating IT. Below are our recent IT solutions.
MITIGATING RISKS - THE DRP WAY
THE PROBLEM: If disaster strikes,
what do we do?
INDUSTRY: Finance
THE SOLUTION: Prodigi spent time analysing the IT
system and network to find areas of potential failure, likelihood of
failure and build models around the findings. Our client is heavily
reliant on their server - email, data, faxes in, and their CRM database.
In their line of business, being 'down' for at any period of time over
one hour is mission-critical. Upon analysis of their IT, we found two
risks with high consequences(among several dozen other low risks).
Prodigi developed a Disaster Recovery Plan and advised of a new IT
solution in which they can be up and running in another site (for all
staff) or remotely using a few laptops (for key staff) almost
immediately.
EMAIL ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE
THE PROBLEM: Client needs email
where-ever they go
INDUSTRY: Manufacturing
THE SOLUTION: Our client was using a standard POP3
email system and had also grown in staff numbers and locations. Prodigi
analysed their needs which now included staff on the road, and their CEO
travelling around the globe. Prodigi recommended a Hosted Exchange
environment in which all staff can access their email via a computer,
their Smartphone and also via a website if they have no mobile access.
All emails are synchronised and all staff can also see each others
calendars. Group communication has been vastly improved and efficiency
within the business has broken new heights.

THE PROBLEM: Lack of solid leads and
take-up of offering
INDUSTRY: Travel and Tourism
THE SOLUTION: A holiday park on NSW's South Coast asked
Prodigi to provide a solution for gaining more enquires for their
waterfront cabin accommodation. Upon investigation and analysis, Prodigi
found that the business had a good web design and solid platform, but
lacked refined and targeted marketing. Through the use of search keyword
analysis, referral origins, competition keywords and rankings, Prodigi
developed a new strategy in order to improve search engine rankings, and
inclusion on mainstream websites. The results speak for themselves.
USER SCENARIOS FOR DATABASES
THE PROBLEM: Our database developers
don't understand our what we want.
INDUSTRY: Finance
THE SOLUTION: Prodigi began by establishing the
end-point - that is, the main business objectives and outcomes that the
new database absolutely MUST deliver. We then established the benefits
to the business that a new database must deliver and how we can measure
and report on those. This key task allowed us to develop defined
reporting system and hence much of the administration aspect of the
database. We then detailed the core dataset and information required by
the database, which then allowed us to build and document a very
detailed set of user scenarios outlining step-by=step the process in
which suers enter and process data, plus the behind the scenes
processing the database must accomplish. By looking at the end first,
Prodigi made the rest and delivered to the database programmers a
detailed specification and use-case scenario document from which to
build the database.
